Thanks Abi for sending me the link to the other post. I love that there is so much discussion about the topic. And I certainly do disagree with his point! I agree that it is the job of the teachers to better explain the context, but students as a whole are resistant to reading, especially books that they are told to read because they are “classics.” This is a subject that should be discussed with more mature students. Looking at the kids today and how the dress and how they act in public and how they speak to each other– they aren’t mature enough to handle this type of subject and this type of language. I just don’t believe it.

Until the second son then goes to court and says “my dad never would have left any money to that whore’s son!” and the first son says “my dad was duped by that bitch of a second wife!” and poor old dead dad’s estate is spent by lawyers fighting.

And people thought only family law attorney’s saw the worst of people. There were clients in our firm (I was never lucky enough to have worked for them) who disinherited their adopted children and left it all to their biological ones. Now there’s a “you were never my favorite” if ever I heard one!
